Remember when Lindsay Lohan hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time and a whole lot of people watched it, but nobody thought it was very good except Zooey Deschanel?
Thankfully, it’s time to move past that. This weekend Oscar nominee Jonah Hill will host “SNL” for a second time to promote his comedy “21 Jump Street” and hopefully make us laugh.
The “Moneyball” actor, with cast member Bill Hader, does the usual silly gags in the promos: funny voices, not so subtle promotion for his project, jokes about elevator operators that are probably ghosts. Nothing that special.
But, if the writing is there, this weekend’s show should be a success. Hill’s an actual comedic actor (a good start) and his 2008 hosting gig definitely had its funny moments, including a sketch where he played a precocious six-year-old who speaks like a Jewish comedian.
Watch the promos, and two clips from Hill’s last “SNL” appearance, below.
