Justin Bieber performs with Usher on ‘Today’; Paternity accuser’s child will take DNA test (Video)

Justin Bieber spread some early Christmas cheer Wednesday as he performed before screaming fans on the “Today” show.

The teen star serenaded the crowd, which started forming two days ago, with some tunes from his No. 1 holiday record, including the undeniably catchy “Mistletoe.” Bieber delivered the “BIG SURPRISE” he promised on Twitter by welcoming his mentor Usher to the stage to sing “The Christmas Song.”

Bieber also addressed, for what feels like the millionth time, the paternity accusation he’s facing, simply saying, “I’m in a very blessed position. I can’t let things like that bring me down.” Bieber has denied the allegation from the start, previously telling the “Today” crew that he had never met Mariah Yeater, who has accused him of fathering her child.

In an interview with David Letterman, airing Wednesday, Bieber confirmed that he has taken a DNA test. The late night host seemed rather peeved that Bieber had faced the accusation, saying, “I can smell a weasel.” Bieber replied, “I think I can smell a weasel too a little bit.”

A lawyer for Yeater told TMZ that Yeater’s child will submit to a DNA test. Which means this whole paternity saga will soon be over, right? Maybe not. Yeater’s lawyer said he is unhappy with Bieber’s test because a member of Yeater’s legal team was not present when it was conducted.

And so the baby drama continues. Here’s hoping this claim is settled by the new year.
