Update: The prime minister’s office confirms that tentative plans for a meeting with Bieber were called off, the AP reports. Bieber’s spokesman Scooter Braun said they never pursued a meeting.
Tween sensation and Webby nominee Justin Bieber is in Israel to tour the Holy Land, maybe meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and perform in Tel Aviv. Two parts of this plan have gone wrong. Bieber was supposed to meet with Netanyahu, but Haaretz.com is reporting that the prime minister canceled the meeting after the singer refused “to meet with children living in communities affected by Gaza rocket fire.” The 17-year-old pop star was pulled into the political arena before when a Rolling Stone interviewer asked him about abortion, health care and other topics inappropriate for someone like the Biebs to comment on.
Although details of the meeting have not been confirmed, one thing is certain: Bieber is getting really angry at the paps.

im in the holy land and i am grateful for that. I just want to have the same personal experience that others have here.
You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places. All I wanted was the chance to walk where jesus did here in isreal.
