Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga deliver strong ‘Saturday Night Live’ finale (Video)

Justin Timberlake did not disappoint as he hosted the season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” with musical guest Lady Gaga, over the weekend.

Since this was Timberlake’s fourth hosting gig, he had a number of established characters to bring back to “SNL.” Timberlake’s Omelet mascot, who asked people to “ Bring it on down to Omeletteville,” became a bottle of beer promoting “Liquorville.” Gaga got into the act, becoming a wine mascot with a cork on her head. It’s not clear if the cork was a costume or something Gaga had in her closet.

Timberlake reunited with former cast member and current late night host Jimmy Fallon for “The Barry Gibb Talk Show.” As usual, Timberlake’s Robin Gibb didn’t have much to say.

Lady Gaga proved she may have a future in comedy as she and Timberlake went head to head in the sketch “What’s That Name.” While Gaga could remember the name of a fan she had never met, Timberlake could not remember fellow N*Sync member Chris Kirkpatrick. Ouch.

Gaga provided the most outrageous moment of the show, as she donned a pregnant belly and gave birth to gold liquid during her performance of “Born This Way.” It was appropriately weird.

Perhaps the most anticipated sketch was the digital short follow-up to “Motherlover” and “(Blank) in a Box.” The host got very close with Andy Samberg and Gaga in the sketch whose subject matter prevents it from being named on this blog. Check out the slightly NSFW sketch here.

As The Post’s Lisa de Moraes reported, Timberlake gave “SNL” its biggest season finale rating in seven years. The ratings were well deserved, Mr. Timberlake.
