Katy Perry promotes ‘Saturday Night Live’: Russell Brand impressions and a little dance (Video)

Pop star and weird dresser Katy Perry is going from musical guest to host on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

During her appearance last year, Perry made a memorable cameo as a busty, clueless teen in a rather tight Elmo shirt, poking fun at her cancelled “Sesame Street” appearance. But will the songstress be able to pull off a whole show, despite her lack of acting experience? (Her limited credits include voicing Smurfette in the critically panned, yet highly lucrative “The Smurfs.”)

Let’s turn to the promos!

Alongside Kenan Thompson, Perry, dressed in a cat print tunic, does a dynamite impression of her husband Russell Brand, who hosted “SNL” earlier this year. She also makes fun of her lack of acting skills by acting like a bad actress (tricky!) and does a little dance.

We’ll have to wait until Saturday to see if Perry will be a Melissa McCarthy or a January Jones. But we know she’ll do her best: “Werking on my hostess with the mostest skills! #actingshard #butihavenicedresses.”

Watch the promos, and Perry’s Elmo sketch, below.
