Kelly Clarkson returns to ‘American Idol,’ performs with Jason Aldean

Kelly Clarkson (Mike Moore - Getty Images for Celebrity Fight) “American Idol’s” first winner, Kelly Clarkson, returned to the show that launched her career last night. Along with country star Jason Aldean, Clarkson belted out the hit duet “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” proving why she’s been one of the most successful “Idol” alums. Just for the record: I voted for Clarkson in 2002 and, even as a preteen, knew she would be a star.
