Kim Kardashian changes topic to cake during Occupy Wall Street conversation

From the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog comes this charming tale of Kim Kardashian and dessert.

While attending a charity gala Monday in New York, the Journal listened in on a conversation between the reality princess, Russell Simmons and Baldwin brother Stephen about the Occupy Wall Street protests.

After Simmons noted he’s been visiting the movement’s camp every day, Kardashian changed the topic.

“Ohhhh,” the Journal quotes Kardashian as saying. “That cake looks so good.”

Eventually, Kardashian, who regularly sports a 20.5-carat diamond ring, informed the blog that she is aware of the movement. Although she did not have an opinion on “economic inequality,” she would say, “I support their right to protest.”

It’s also worth noting that the event she attended raised more than $3 million for cancer research.

So although Kardashian is firmly part of the 1 percent, she still has love for the 99.
