Lee DeWyze, winner of “American Idol” in 2010, is engaged.
People magazine reports that the rocker and Illinois native, 25, proposed to his girlfriend — model and actress Jonna Walsh, 26, whose film credits include “Couples Retreat” and “Faster” — on July 16 while watching fireworks on a private yacht at Disney World.
The two have been together since last fall; they met when she appeared in DeWyze’s video for the song “Sweet Serendipity.”
DeWyze summed up his feelings about popping the question after less than a year of dating this way: “When you know, you know.”
The couple plan to marry in fall 2012.
