Lindsay Lohan arraignment set for today; Avril Lavigne finally sings Nickelback

A morning mix of headlines . . .

Lohan: again becoming a court case. (Richard Shotwell - Invision/AP)

Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to be arraigned today on a trio of charges — reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing an officer — related to a car accident that occurred in June. Prosecutors formally asked a judge yesterday to revoke Lohan’s probation in a previous jewelry theft case because of these charges, which could lead to more jail time for the star of “Liz & Dick.” But according to the Associated Press, today’s hearing won’t involve a decision on that; instead, it will focus on scheduling future court dates for Lohan, who is not expected to show up at today’s hearing. Meanwhile, Radar Online reports that these new charges as well as other recent troubles for the actress could interfere with Lohan’s plans to nail down a $500,000 endorsement deal with a clothing company, whose name won’t be repeated here because that might come across as an endorsement. And, what, the rest of us are just supposed to do that for free? (Associated Press; Radar Online)

Avril Lavigne has covered “How You Remind Me,” the ubiquitous pop song originally recorded by fiance Chad Kroeger’s gleefully loathed band, Nickelback. Here’s the thing: As Vulture notes, the cover song is actually not terrible. Sorry, Internet. (Fuse)

Jenna Bush Hager — “Today” show correspondent and former first daughter — is pregnant. She and husband Henry Hager are expecting the baby this spring, according to People magazine, and are “so excited.” The infant will be the first grandchild for President George W. Bush and wife Laura. (People; Reliable Source)

In other baby news, Drew Barrymore and her daughter, Olive, make their magazine cover debut in this week’s People. Little Olive looks adorable and, possibly, hypnotized by the words “Exclusive First Baby Photos” that have been plastered across her mommy’s head. (People)

Production on episodes of “Arrested Development” has been put on hold, but for potentially positive reasons: Netflix wants more episodes, and it’s giving creator Mitch Hurwitz time to figure out how to weave additional story arcs into the already planned installments. That and the actors’ schedules apparently got in the way of shooting more footage. (Deadline)

Amanda Seyfried admitted she had a few drinks before her ”Late Show With David Letterman” appearance. Which explains a lot about her behavior during the interview. (CBS)

Also under the influence — of excessive cold medication and a little wine — last night on late-night: Leslie Mann.
