Lindsay Lohan has reportedly backed out of a planned “20/20” interview with Barbara Walters that was supposed to air Nov. 16. According to Deadline, Lohan’s new publicity team was not pleased with “the direction ABC wanted to take the interview.” Which, presumably, was a direction that involved asking Lohan questions about her tilt-a-whirl personal life. Brooke Burke-Charvet, co-host of “Dancing With the Stars,” revealed in a YouTube video Thursday that she has a cancerous nodule on her thyroid and will get a thyroidectomy to have it removed. Her co-host, Tom Bergeron, expressed his concern for Burke-Charvet on ”The Talk,” saying that “she knows my love and support are with [her].” (Associated Press; YouTube; People)
Mark Wahlberg will star in the fourth “Transformers” movie. Director Michael Bay confirmed the rumored casting coup Thursday on his Web site, calling Wahlberg “the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.” It’s unclear what Wahlberg’s role will be, but hopefully this means the movie will be a “The Other Guys”-esque buddy comedy about Wahlberg’s tough-as-nails military officer and his ne’er-do-well best friend, Bumblebee.(Michaelbay.com)
The forthcoming seventh “Star Wars” movie reportedly has a writer. Vulture reports that sources say Michael Arndt , screenwriter of “Toy Story 3,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and the second “Hunger Games” film, has already written a treatment for ”Star Wars: Episode VII” and will be at least one of the writers crafting the screenplay. Vulture also said that, while no director has been chosen, Arndt’s treatment will be circulated to Brad Bird, Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams and that all three “Star Wars” principles — Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo — will hopefully appear in the new movie. Naturally, Disney and Lucasfilm did not confirm these details.
