Lindsay Lohan’s latest go at community service is off to a rocky start.
The actress was set to begin her first day of work at the L.A. County Morgue Thursday in order to prove that she’s super serious about following her probation order, which was revoked Wednesday, to a T.
But she was turned away due to tardiness, as TMZ first reported. Of course, she has a completely reasonable explanation of why she was 20 minutes late.
“Her lateness was due to a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival,” Lohan’s rep Steve Honig said in a statement.
Before you pick a pitchfork and torch, know that Lohan is owning the mistake. “I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help,” she tweeted.
Lohan also would like everyone to know that’s she’s been stressed to the point of complying with her therapy order: “With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I've never been so happy to go to therapy!!!!”
Tomorrow is another day, Lindsay. Just be on time.
Update: Oh dear. It seems that Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner, isn’t buying Lohan’s excuse. Why? She had been to the office before and was given directions, Winter said.
