Update: Hugh Hefner is making the best of Lohan’s leak, writing on Twitter that it’s “causing a sensation.”
“Because of the interest & the Internet leak, we’re releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early,” the magazine mogul tweeted. No official word yet on what “early” means.
Lindsay Lohan’s entire Playboy pictorial has leaked online, a week before it was set to hit newsstands and get a TV reveal on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The ten photo spread, clearly inspired by the 1949 shoot of Marilyn Monroe that appeared in the men’s magazine’s inaugural issue, hit the Web this afternoon. Some of the pictures are stamped with the watermark for WorldMags.net, which had scanned the issue and made it available for download. This file has since been taken offline. The issue’s cover leaked online Thursday.
The actress, who has suffered from a number of legal troubles in recent years, previously posed nude for another Monroe-inspired spread in New York Magazine
Request for comment from Playboy has not been returned. Sources told TMZ that magazine executives fear the leak could damage sales. Lohan was reportedly paid close to $1 million for the shoot.
The issue hits newsstands December 15.
