Liv Tyler is going to teach you about manners, in book form

Liv Tyler and her maternal grandmother, Dorothea Johnson, have made a deal with Rodale Books to publish a book about etiquette in contemporary society.

Rodale announced today that “Modern Manners” — a guide that will demonstrate how politeness can “help us to communicate more effectively in today’s fast-paced digital world,” according to the press release — will be published in 2012. Johnson is the resident etiquette expert on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and founder of the Protocol School of Washington, while Tyler demonstrated impeccable manners in the “Lord of the Rings” movies and “The Incredible Hulk.”

Given his jobs as both “American Idol” judge and the Aerosmith frontman who sometimes argues onstage with guitarist Joe Perry, here’s hoping Steven Tyler, Liv’s father, gives it a read.
