The pop queen’s 15-year-old daughter Lourdes was recently photographed smoking a sin stick, which of course led many to wonder how Madge felt about such behavior.

NBC’s Harry Smith stepped up to the plate and asked that very question during an interview that airs on “Rock Center” Wednesday night. “How did Madonna react to that?” he asked.

“She wasn’t very happy,” Madonna said, referring to herself in the third person, natch.

When asked if she’s a tough mom, Madonna replied, “I think I am, but honestly I don’t think I’m as tough as I should be.”

“It’s hard,” Madonna continued. “Every day is a negotiation. But cigarette smoking I’m not very fond of — for anyone.”

“But there is a video of you with a cigarette,” says Smith, referring to the music video for “Girl Gone Wild.”

“I don’t smoke. That’s just an accessory, Harry,” Madonna replied. “There’s a difference.”
