Nick Cannon said a social worker visited new mom Mariah Carey in the hospital this week over allegations of drug use and drinking. On Thursday’s “Piers Morgan Tonight
,” Cannon said someone called child protective services after Carey followed a nurse’s suggestion to drink a small amount of dark beer to help with breast-feeding.
“I guess someone maybe overheard that [suggestion], and this is a good way to make a quick buck, or call the tabloids,” he suggested. “It’s kind of sad that people think that we’ll make money off of these newborns.”
Carey, who played a social worker in the movie “Precious,” gave birth to twins, Monroe and Moroccan, in early May. She and the children are still in the hospital. Carey did not address the social worker’s visit on Twitter.
If this story ever appears in a tabloid, it will be old news thanks to the proud papa.
