Matthew Lewis has been traveling for about 10 days to promote “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2,” visiting London, Toronto and New York with little time to sleep. But he found time to take in some historic sights on his first trip to Washington, D.C.

“It was fantastic,” Lewis said of his Wednesday night sightseeing. The 22-year-old actor said he visited the British Embassy, where he met the ambassador, and drove by the White House. “I think everyone was asleep,” he joked.

Check back in Friday for the full interview with the actor, in which he discusses his big role in the last “Potter” film, how he feels about being called “hot” in the press and the time he got a yellow bell pepper from a fan.

In the meantime, watch Lewis at the Georgetown premiere of the film after the jump.
