Mayim Bialik recovering after accident; Kristen Stewart not dropped from ‘Snow White’ after all?

A morning mix of entertainment headlines...

Mayim Bialik — one-time star of “Blossom” and current portrayer of Amy on “The Big Bang Theory” — is recuperating after a car accident that happened Wednesday. People reports that a car filled with tourists from Chile crashed into Bialik’s vehicle on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. She was transported to the hospital with a serious injury to her left thumb but appears to be recovering well. Her husband tweeted on her behalf to tell her Twitter followers that she won’t have to lose that thumb. (People)

Universal Pictures says Kristen Stewart has not been dropped from the sequel to ”Snow White and the Huntsman,” according to The Wrap. “We’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise. . . . Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false,” Universal co-chair Donna Langely told the Web site. That contradicts a story by The Hollywood Reporter and noted in yesterday’s morning mix, which said Stewart had been dropped from a planned sequel and that the next movie would be focused on Huntsman Chris Hemsworth. Universal now says there still may be a Huntsman spinoff, but that doesn’t mean Stewart is no longer the fairest of them all. Man, this reminds me of that time when it seemed like Stewart had been cast in “Lie Down in Darkness,” and then it turned out she had not been yet. (The Wrap)

Chris Brown and Drake have been sued for $16 million for that nightclub fight back in June in which their respective entourages reportedly threw glass bottles at Manhattan’s W.i.P. The lawsuit was filed by Entertainment Enterprises, the company that owns the trademark for Greenhouse, which — stay with me now — shares space, owners and a liquor license with the W.i.P. club, according to the New York Post. Roger Sterling is joining the cast of “Arrested Development.” John Slattery, who plays the ad exec with a pocket perpetually full of cash on “Mad Men,” will be in multiple new episodes of the Bluth family comedy, TV Line reports, but who he will play remains unclear. May I suggest Franklin’s long lost, non-puppet uncle? (TV Line)

Michael J. Fox is preparing to return to TV in a series based on his own life. And apparently multiple networks would be very happy to have him. (TV Column; Vulture)

Dave Mustaine, lead singer of Megadeth, accused President Obama of staging the mass shootings in Aurora, Colo., and Oak Creek, Wisc., during a recent concert in Singapore. Classy move. (Entertainment Weekly)

Lucy Lawless will join the cast of “Parks and Recreation” this season as a potential love interest for a certain gentleman who really likes brunettes. (Huffington Post)
