Michel Hazanavicius won the Oscar for directing silent film “The Artist.” The win was yet another “as expected” moment from the 84th Academy Awards.
Hazanavicius was given the award by presenter Michael Douglas, who had a little trouble pronouncing Hazanavicius’s notoriously difficult last name.
“I am the happiest director in the world right now,” Hazanavicius declared. He thanked the cast and crew of “The Artist,” as well its breakout star, Uggie.
Still, Hazanavicius couldn’t help but show his true feelings for the Jack Russell terrier: “He’s not that good.”
