Miley Cyrus’s engagement gets thumbs up from Billy Ray

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus (© Mario Anzuoni - REUTERS) Miley Cyrus's engagement to “Hunger Games” kid Liam Hemsworth has received the stamp of approval from her “Achy Breaky” papa, Billy Ray, y’all.

“All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams,” he tweeted. “To find happiness...peace of mind ...and someday know... true love.”

(Note: I hope you took the appropriate pauses where those ellipses are written. If not, you denied that tweet the gravitas it deserves.)

So cynics (hey, that’s me!), Billy Ray is on board with his 19-year-old daughter’s engagement to a 22-year-old man. And so is Cyrus matriarch Tish: “Wow! All of the LOVE pouring out for Miley and Liam is incredible! So happy for my precious baby girl and the love of her life!”

Get on the love train.
