Natalie Portman -- who most recently played an unraveling ballet dancer in "Black Swan" -- apparently has the movie to thank for more than just Oscar buzz. According to a publicist for Portman, the actress is not only engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millipied (who she met while filming the movie), but the couple is expecting a child, due sometime in 2011.
"I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience," said Portman in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.
Portman, 29, hit the screen as a precocious kid actress who wowed audiences with her performance as a pint-size hitman in 1994's "The Professional" and then went on to build a credible career in films as varied as the rebooted "Star Wars" franchise, "The Darjeeling Limited" and -- most recently -- "Black Swan." In 2003, she graduated from Harvard with a degree in psychology. She'll next appear opposite Ashton Kutcher in the rom-com "No Strings Attached."
In addition to being a choreographer, Millipied, 33, is a principal dancer at the New York City ballet who also had a small on-screen role in "Black Swan."
Here's a clip of Millipied talking about the making of the movie:
