At just 31, Nick Cannon shocked many of his fans with his sudden hospitalization and subsequent revelation that he has kidney disease and lupus.

Now the “American’s Got Talent” and radio show host has released the first episode of “NCredible Health Hustle,” a video series that will document his health struggles and recovery.

“Kidney disease and lupus are serious ailments but, as you’ll see through these videos in the coming weeks, it is possible to put the reins on it a bit and gain control of your health and wellness,” Cannon said in a message posted to his Web site. “I thank all of you for the continuous messages, and want you to know it inspires me to keep pushing.”

The video features footage of Cannon in a hospital, hooked up to an IV and discussing his symptoms with a doctor. It also shows glimpse of his wife Mariah Carey and their twin babies, Roc and Roe.

The actor was first hospitalized in January during a vacation with his family in Colorado for what was described as “mild kidney failure.” He was released, but hospitalized again in February after blood clots were discovered in his lungs. Soon after, Cannon told People magazine that he had received a diagnosis of lupus.
