Updated, 4:04 p.m. ET : Mariah Carey posted a new message on Twitter this afternoon that said Nick Cannon “is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he’ll be discharged within 2 days. As always he’s laughing and in good spirits. ”
Shortly after that, Cannon tweeted: “Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. #OUCH”
It’s unclear what procedure was performed on Cannon, 31. Presumably it will still allow him to stick to the two-day discharge plan previously tweeted by his wife.
The “America’s Got Talent” host tweeted late yesterday that he’s “getting back to business” and shared a photo of himself in his L.A. hospital room, sitting up straight and getting his hair trimmed. He followed that up with a tweet that mentioned that Connor Cruise — yes, the son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman — was DJing last night at Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel.
Promotional tweets, by the way, are an official symptom of improving health.
Mariah Carey has been quiet about the situation since her previous tweets and comments about her husband being stable but “in a lot of pain.” No word yet about when Cannon will be released from the hospital; I’ve reached out to Cannon’s rep but have not heard back. We’ll update the blog with new information about Cannon’s condition as soon as we get it.
