No more 'Today' for Kanye West

Okay, I totally called this one.

In the wake of Kanye West's disastrous "Today" interview earlier this week -- an interview West characterized on Twitter as "BRUTAL" (his caps, not mine) -- West has pulled out of an upcoming performance on the show that had been scheduled for Nov. 26.

On Friday, West again used his medium of choice to tweet this update:

"I'm not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I'm so happy the world got to see just a small piece of "the set up" I blatantly said I'm not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance….And I don't hate Matt Lauer… We don't promote hate. That's the whole point!!! I promote love and truth!

Earlier in the week the rapper appeared on "Today" to apologize for accusing then-President Bush of racism in 2005 because of the White House's mishandling of the response to Hurricane Katrina (aka, the "worst moment" of Bush's presidency). During West's sit down with Lauer, the rapper was disturbed upon being interrupted by footage of himself interrupting (there's that word again) Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
