Pee-Wee Herman still hoping Judd Apatow movie happens

Pee-Wee Herman: from Broadway to Comic-Con. (Kevin Mazur)
Pee-Wee Herman made a brief appeance at Comic-Con 2011 and noted that plans for another Pee-Wee Herman film could move forward if a studio gives it a green light.

Herman, aka Paul Reubens, said the yes or no answer from the studio, which he did not name, is expected today. The long-rumoured movie — to be produced by Judd Apatow and co-written by Herman — will be a road trip picture in the spirit of “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.”

During his appearance, Herman also took questions from fans (note: the secret word today is Comic-Con) and thanked fans for all their support over the years.

He closed by pointing out that he was heading straight from San Diego to (no joke) the Alamo, where he will be shooting an episode of “Top Chef.”

Would you see the Apatow/Pee-Wee project if it gets that green light? I will, and I will indeed tell them that Large Marge sent me.
