‘Portlandia’ live tour kicks off, as season two nears

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein in "Portlandia" on IFC. (Chris Hornbecker - IFC)
“Portlandia,” the hilarious IFC show that satirizes hipster culture and taught us the successful business model, “Put a bird on it,” has hit the road.

“SNL’s” Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney fame are making live appearances in six cities over the next month. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the entire tour is sold out.

But if you weren’t able to get tickets to one of the shows and still want your “Portlandia” fix, there are three clips from season two, premiering Jan. 6. In the previews (seen below), the pair get sucked into watching “Battlestar Galactica,” meet many wannabe DJs and hang out in a dog park.

Armisen, Brownstein and the show are also profiled in the latest issue of the New Yorker. The piece highlights the pair’s somewhat unusual and completely wonderful relationship, and is worth a read.

Watch the season two preview clips below.
