R. Kelly recovering from emergency surgery; Jennifer Lopez tells audience she’s ‘happy’

R. Kelly is recovering after undergoing emergency throat surgery in Chicago to drain an abscess on one of his tonsils. A rep for the singer said he will be “laid up indefinitely.” Kelly thanked his fans for their support on Twitter: “I'd like to thank everybody for their love, concern and support. I WILL BE BACK!” (Associated Press)

Jennifer Lopez is doing just fine after her split with Marc Anthony, thank you very much. She told an audience of wedding guests in the Republic of Crimea in Ukraine, “I am happy, because I am here with you today!” You can see video of the performance here. (Us Weekly)

Just so you know, Marc Anthony was a “little bit upset” after the breakup. (People)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” continued to rake in the cash, with the film’s five-day box office total now at $202.6 million. But it failed to break the five-day record set by “The Dark Knight” by about one million dollars. (Box Office Mojo)

Hilary Swank is set to star and produce “Shrapnel,” a comic book movie set in the future. (Vulture)

Cynthia Nixon, of “Sex and the City” fame, will return to Broadway in a production of “Wit.” Nixon’s former co-star, Kim Cattrall, will also take to the stage this November in “Private Lives.” This is good news mainly because it will prevent a third “Sex and the City” film from being made in the near future.
