Reese Witherspoon’s father sued for bigamy; Zooey Deschanel to play Loretta Lynn

Reese Witherspoon’s father John Drake has been sued by her mother and his first wife Mary Elizabeth for bigamy.

According to the AP, Witherspoon’s parents separated in 1996 but still maintain a friendly relationship. Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon “fears [her husband] may be suffering from early onset of dementia” and claims he does not remember marrying his second wife, Tricianne Taylor. Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon believes Taylor may be taking advantage of John Witherspoon and wants the second marriage annulled. (Associated Press)

Zooey Deschanel will play country legend Loretta Lynn in a musical version of “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Lynn and Deschanel made the announcement Thursday during a Grand Ole Opry show. (Associated Press)
