Reeve Carney cast as Jeff Buckley in biopic; Elvis Presley’s death remembered

Reeve Carney, star of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” has apparently landed the lead role of Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic about the late singer-songwriter. This is the project that is being produced by Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert, not “Greetings From Tim Buckley,” another Buckley-inspired film that will star Penn Badgley as the “Last Goodbye” crooner. Carney can sing, and he certainly looks a lot like Jeff Buckley, so they got at least that much right. (The Wrap)

Fans mark the 34th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death with a candlelight vigil at Graceland. Presley died on Aug. 16, 1977, at the age of 42. (People)
