In a round of dueling morning show interviews, Robert Pattinson discussed the new movie “Water for Elephants” — and told a very dark story about the circus — on this morning’s “Today” show, while Reese Witherspoon talked to “Good Morning America.”
When Matt Lauer asked Pattinson if he wanted to join the circus as a kid, he responded, “No. The first time I went to the circus somebody died, one of the clowns died.” Wait. What?
“His little car exploded,” Pattinson explained while the “Today” crew giggled.
Meanwhile, Witherspoon gave a much less bizarre interview to “GMA’s” Robin Roberts. Witherspoon gushed over her co-star — Rosie the elephant — and her new, fan-approved husband, Jim Toth.
