Rosie O’Donnell recovers from heart attack, thanks aspirin and Google for saving life

Rosie O'Donnell, on the mend. (Evan Agostini - AP)
Rosie O’Donnell recently had a heart attack, but is now on the mend, thanks to Bayer aspirin and the Internet. As People magazine noted, O’Donnell, 50, published a blog post Monday titled “My heart attack,” in which she explained that after helping an “enormous woman” (O’Donnell’s words) get out of her car last week, the former talk show host felt an ache in her chest and soreness in her arms. To quote O’Donnell, who, for the record, often blogs in free verse:

“maybe this is a heart attack

i googled womens heart attack symptoms

i had many of them/but really? — i thought — naaaa

i took some bayer aspirin

thank god

saved by a tv commercial/literally”

O’Donnell said a visit to the doctor confirmed that one of her arteries was 99% blocked, but a stent was put in; now she’s doing well and, obviously, back to writing blog-poetry.
