Russell Brand arrested, released; Gallagher ‘slowly recovering’ from heart attack

Russell Brand turned himself in to New Orleans police Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The comedian allegedly smashed a law firm’s window with the iPhone of a photographer who was trying to take his picture. Brand was released on $5,000 bond for the charge of simple criminal damage to property. (Associated Press)

Gallagher has been placed in a medically induced coma after suffering a heart attack Wednesday. The 65-year-old comedian’s manager said he’s “slowly recovering.” (HuffPost; AP)

Dr. Seuss’s “The Cat in Hat” will now get the 3D, CG-animated treatment from the people who created “The Lorax.” Does this mean we’ll be getting “Cat in the Hat” toilet paper as well? (Vulture)

Speaking of unnecessary movies, ABC Family will make a fifth “Home Alone” film. (Deadline)
