Sean Astin is going from hobbit to pizza-loving turtle.

The actor told Entertainment Weekly that he will provide the voice of Raphael in the new Nickelodeon version of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” He’ll join previously announced castmates Jason Biggs (Leonardo), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo) and Rob Paulsen (Donatello).

Astin, who is best known for films “Rudy” and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, isn’t a stranger to voice over work. He narrated “Meerkat Manor” and provides the voice of Special Agent Oso in the Disney Junior show of the same name.

So what does Astin think of his turtle? “Raphael’s the coolest, no question about it. Ask anybody.”
