Sgt. Scott Moore on Mila Kunis date: ‘My initial reaction was disbelief’

Sgt. Scott Moore’s request to take one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses to a Marine Corps Ball has been accepted. And he’s feeling pretty good about it — even though he hasn’t actually talked to his future date, Mila Kunis, yet.

The lucky sergeant is serving in Afghanistan and is not available for interviews. But through Camp Leatherneck’s Public Affairs Office, Moore has put out a prepared Q&A.

“My initial reaction was disbelief,” the Marine said in a statement. “It’s going to be a great experience to meet her, and it’s going to make the ball more special for everyone.”

Moore posted a video to YouTube asking Kunis to attend a Marine Corps Ball with him. The “Black Swan” actress accepted the invitation under a semi-ambush by Fox411 at a red carpet event.

Kunis hasn’t reached out to Moore personally to accept the invitation, but her team has contacted him.

“It was kind of a bet between me and Marines in my platoon,” Moore said of the video. “I told everyone I was going to do it, but they didn’t think I would go through with it.”

Moore also has Justin Timberlake, Kunis’s “Friends With Benefits” co-star, to thank for landing the date. Timberlake nudged Kunis into doing it. “Justin Timberlake’s encouragement definitely helped; I owe him one.”

And yes, he really did think this all was possible: “I always thought I had a chance, and sometimes that’s all you need.”
