Sinead O'Connor reaches out for help on Twitter

Sinead O’Connor’s usually lighthearted Twitter feed took a serious turn Wednesday, as the singer told her followers she was unwell and in need of a psychiatrist.

“does any1 know a psychiatrist in dublin or wicklow who could urgently see me today please? im really un-well... and in danger,” the singer tweeted from the handle, @vampyahslayah.

O’Connor, who broke her ankle Tuesday, according to USA Today, explained that a tabloid story about her husband and the criticism she has received for marrying him “has spun me off and I'm ill.”

Thankfully, O’Connor’s plea for assistance was heeded.

“hey.. wanna thank all SO much for such great help today. have a number of numbers, contacts, etc now and appointments,” she tweeted, adding that she was again taking medication.

The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer wed boyfriend Barry Herridge last month, then announced plans to divorce him 16 days later. O’Connor later announced the two had reconciled.

She was in Los Angeles last week to perform at the “Albert Nobbs” soundtrack release party hosted by Glenn Close.

O’Connor, who sent similarly concerning tweets last September, assured USA Today that she was feeling better after sending out her Twitter plea: “I got a lot of help, and now it's all good.”
