Sofia Coppola to wed boyfriend Thomas Mars

Sofia Coppola is in the midst of making wedding plans.

The filmmaker will marry her boyfriend Thomas Mars — French frontman for the alt-rock band Phoenix — this August at the Coppolas’ family villa in Bernalda, Italy, People has confirmed.

“Yes, they are getting married and having an intimate family wedding,” Coppola’s rep tells the magazine.

Coppola, 40, and Mars, 34, have been together for several years and have two daughters together: Romy, 4, and Cosima, 1. The director of “Somewhere” and “Lost in Translation” was previously married to Spike Jonze; they divorced in 2003.

Can we assume that the wedding music will include some tunes from Phoenix and, perhaps, this “Translation” gem from Jesus and Mary Chain?
