The five Spice Girls — Melanie Brown (Scary), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), Geri Halliwell (Ginger), Emma Bunton (Baby) and Victoria Beckham (Posh) — reunited Tuesday to announce the details from A to Z of their new musical, the Associated Press reports.
Per the AP, “Viva Forever” will pull from the Spice Girls’ song catalog to create a story about female friendship. It will be produced by “Mamma Mia” mastermind Judy Craymer.
In a nice nod to their fans, the women made the announcement at the London hotel where the video for their debut song “Wannabe” was filmed.
It was rumored that the girl power group, which formed in 1994 and disbanded for the first time in 2000, was set to perform at the London Olympics this summer. Sadly, the Spice Girls are not on an (unconfirmed) list of performers obtained by the Telegraph.
“Viva Forever” will open Dec. 11 in London, according to the AP. Watch video of the Spice Girls talking about the musical, as well as video for “Wannabe,” below.
