‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ trailer: Logan Lerman and Emma Watson come of age

Here’s the first trailer for “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” a film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s coming-of-age novel that stars Logan Lerman (“Percy Jackson & The Olympians”), Ezra Miller (“We Need to Talk About Kevin”) and Emma Watson (I assume you can name her top credit).

“Perks” tells the story of Charlie, a shy high school freshman reeling from a terrible loss who finds his place with fellow misfits Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Miller). They advise the writer hopeful on the finer points of growing up, which includes doing drugs and standing in the bed of a speeding pickup truck.

The film’s stars presented the trailer at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. Based on this first footage, and the book’s already extremely loyal fan base, I’d say you should expect to see this one at that awards show next year.

Watch the trailer below.
