Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of “Jersey Shore” fame is not in rehab for substance abuse issues, as TMZ claimed, according to his rep. However, the reality star “has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule,” his rep said in a statement.

In addition to his rep’s denial, the man himself rebuffed reports that he’s in rehab for substance abuse issues with the tweet, “Don't believe everything you read or hear.”

Tom Hanks explains himself, after the jump.

The Daily Caller obtained a video of Tom Hanks and Eagles musician Glenn Frey speaking at a school auction in 2004 and engaging with a man in blackface wearing a leopard-print toga. Hanks said in a statement, “In 2004, I was blindsided when one of the parents got up on the stage in a costume that was hideously offensive then and is hideously offensive now. What is usually a night of food and drink for a good cause was, regrettably, marred by an appalling few moments.” (Gossip Cop; The Daily Caller)
