Not surprisingly, the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has prompted reaction — in the form of streaming video blogs and pithy tweets — from around the celebrity universe.
Here’s a rundown of just some of the quality analysis from the famous people who didn’t score an invite to Westminster Abbey.
E! has been broadcasting its own uniquely, um, E!-like coverage on television and online, anchored by Giuliana Rancic and others.A British commentator just noted that Middleton padded the hips on her dress to make her waist look smaller. “Really?” Rancic asked. “That’s brilliant.”
It’s surprising, really, that Jay and Silent Bob didn’t get invited to the wedding. Despite the snub, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are currently live streaming their analysis of the royal wedding. (Sample comment from Smith: “What happens to these two now? Is he a decorated war hero of some sort?”) I am guessing the language may get NSFW although they’ve kept it surprisingly clean so far.
Tila Tequila has been doing the same thing. Because the royal wedding needed an additional dose of dignity, and she’s the obvious person to fill that need.
And then there are the tweets. Here’s a handful of the best so far, with more undoubtedly to come.
From Stephen Colbert:
At the Royal Wedding. Crap, I'm wearing the same thing as Camilla.
From Diablo Cody:
I'm going to mute the Royal Wedding and blast "Love Song" by Tesla while Kate walks down the aisle.
From comedian Paul Scheer:
Britain has William & Kate and We have Chloe & Lamar. I think we win.
Denis Leary, debating whether to tune in:
Tougher call - Royal Wedding or Carrott Top DVD. Hmmm....
And ?uestlove of The Roots, caving in:
