Watch another ‘Battleship’ trailer (Video)

A still from “Battleship.” (Universal)
The third trailer for “Battleship” has arrived, a full two months before the film hits theaters.

In the latest clip, we get a good long look at the armored suit-wearing alien race, known as “The Regents,” who are knocking over sky scrapers, setting everything on fire and pretty much destroying the world. Indeed, some will argue that this trailer gives away too much of the plot and too many of the Michael Bay-esque action sequences. (The new footage also reveals that Rihanna says “Boom” at some point.)

Now that “John Carter” has been released to less than desirable numbers, the content of this trailer feels more important. Suddenly, there’s even more pressure on Taylor Kitsch for this picture — which like “Carter” cost over $200 million to make — a success. Clear eyes, lots of explosions, can’t lose? Based on this trailer, that seems uncertain.

Watch the trailer below.
