Watch Jennifer Lawrence in the ‘House at the End of the Street’ trailer

Jennifer Lawrence. (Charles Sykes - AP)
Here’s the first trailer for “The House at the End of the Street,” a horror film starring an unknown young actress named Jennifer Lawrence.

Clearly, that last bit was a joke considering Lawrence’s profile has skyrocketed with the release of “The Hunger Games” last week. The 21-year-old actress has been on every late-night talk show (being delightful), hitting the red carpet (looking great) and leaving critics (generally) impressed by her performance as Katniss Everdeen.

With all that considered, it makes perfect sense that Relativity Media would release of official trailer for “House” now. (Strike while the iron is buzzing, if you know what I mean.) Let’s take a look at the trailer, which contains what may be considered plot spoilers.

Elissa (Lawrence) and her mother (Elisabeth Shue) move to a house located near an abode where a child murdered her parents. Lawrence develops a friendship with the child murderer’s brother, who stills lives in the house where the crime took place.

The trailer is told in reverse, which is at once confusing and intriguing. There are flashes of Lawrence, sweating with her cleavage on full display, running around looking terrified. It’s not really clear who is doing the scaring.

It’s hard to say based on this trailer how the movie will turn. But no matter the quality of the final product, I’m sure Lawrence’s new PG-13 fanbase will line up to see it.

Watch the trailer, via MTV, below.
