The first trailers for Disney’s alien action film, “John Carter,” and horror prequel, “The Thing,” have been released.
“John Carter” stars Taylor Kitsch, of “Friday Night Lights” fame, as a Civil War vet who is transported to Mars and starts fighting in an alien war.
The jury’s still out on the film, but the trailer gets bonus points for featuring Peter Gabriel’s cover of Arcade Fire’s “My Body is a Cage.”
“The Thing,” a prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 classic of the same title, stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a scientist who, along with a Norwegian scientific team, travels to Antarctica to bother an alien and start mayhem. This prequel, which was originally pitched as a remake, is bound to both delight and anger fans of the original.
