‘Welcome Back Kotter’ actor Robert Hegyes dies; Kim Kardashian to guest on ‘Drop Dead Diva’

Robert Hegyes, the actor who played Sweathog Juan Epstein on “Welcome Back Kotter,” died Thursday after being brought to a New Jersey hospital in cardiac arrest. He was 60.

Hegyes, who also had a role on “Cagney & Lacey,” reunited with his former “Kotter” castmates at the TV Land Awards in April 2011. (AP via WaPo)

Kim Kardashian will have a recurring guest role on Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva.” Show creator Josh Berman said he was “blown away by her smarts, sense of humor, and passion.” (THR)
