When Snooki Polizzi meets the wrestling ring

Perhaps you began this Tuesday by optimistically thinking that the world is filled primarily with people with some dignity. Perhaps, while sipping on your morning coffee and realizing there has been a brief but notable lull in Charlie Sheen news , you thought maybe, just maybe, pop culture could be classy for a few precious hours.

You thought wrong, my friend. Because Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of “The Jersey Shore,” whose name is truly a synonym for admirable restraint, has become a professional wrestler. Well, sort of. She showed up in Monday’s episode of WWE’s “Raw” and got in a few punches. And, apparently, she plans to throw down again at WrestleMania XXVII on April 3.

Set down your coffee. Classiness is officially no longer in session.
