William Shatner wants your Thanksgiving holiday to be filled with deep fried turkeys and absent of fires.
In a public service announcement created with State Farm insurance, the “Star Trek” legend pulls from his real life experiences to explain, in his typically dramatic fashion, how a quest for a moist turkey can turn tragic.
“Blinded by my hunger, I ignored safety. Spat in the face of science,” Shatner says before dropping a butterball into a fryer holding too much oil thus creating the phoniest looking fire ever.
But there is a real lesson to be learned from the silly video. Always use proper safety tools, including the “dingle dangle,” and only invite William Shatner to Thanksgiving dinner if you have a fire extinguisher.
