Zac Efron, Leonardo DiCaprio and Selena Gomez all want you to vote for stuff

Huddle up, kids: there is a presidential election roughly one month from now. And a bunch of famous people really, really want you to vote. For stuff.

Seriously, that’s the name of a campaign spearheaded by Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. Vote4Stuff, per its Facebook page, is a non-partisan campaign designed to increase voter registration. In other words, it’s basically the 2012 version of the celeb-backed, snarkily named “Don’t Vote” campaign that was mounted during the 2008 election.

So just vote for stuff, you guys. Give a hang about something. If you can’t muster the motivation to do it for yourself and your community, then at least vote because, per the video clip below (found via Buzzfeed), DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Sarah Silverman, Selena Gomez and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have asked really nicely. What, you’re not going to do what JGL says? He’s such a good dancer and he can travel through time. So surely he knows what he’s talking about.

Now, some of you may be wondering: What about the Rock the Vote campaign?

Or, as Jonah Hill asks in the Vote4Stuff clip, “This isn’t Rock the Vote? Where’s Rihanna?”

Please, followers of voter-engagement efforts for youth, do not fret. Rock the Vote is still doing its vote-rocking thing, and in fact, has recently released its own set of PSAs in an effort to coerce under-30s to vote on all possible YouTube fronts.

Rihanna is not in this particular clip. But Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus and her much-discussed haircut all make appearances. They are indeed comically persuasive. But if these celeb campaigns were really committed to making people participate in this election, they’d send Ryan Gosling to every polling place on Election Day so he could hold voters’ hands while they do their civic duty.

Really. Someone should make that happen.
