Zooey Deschanel sings national anthem at World Series, gets thumbs up from Judy Blume (Video)

Zooey Deschanel belted out the national anthem at game 4 of the World Series this Sunday.

If you’re looking for your Monday dose of schadenfraude, you’ll have to go elsewhere. Deschanel did not flub any of the Star Spangled lyrics, unlike Cyndi Lauper and Christina Aguliera.

“Zooey was amazing,” author Judy Blume tweeted. Actor Nick Kroll informed her, “You just sang the [expletive] out of the national anthem.”

She was accused, however, of committing one faux pas: not staying for the whole game. This was pointed out by the announcers as they showed her empty seat.

“Would have loved to have watched the whole game but I had to catch a plane so I can go to work tomorrow,” she explained on Twitter. “That's all guys. I'm not a jerk.”
