WikiLeaks auctions off lunch with Assange

(Associated Press)
You really can’t make this stuff up.

WikiLeaks, via eBay, is auctioning off lunch with founder Julian Assange. Eight people will have a chance to dine with Assange at “one of London’s finest restaurants” next month, the site says. Later, they’ll get a chance to attend a speaking event with Assange.

As of this writing, the going rate for a seat at the table is roughly 600 euros.

WikiLeaks describes itself as a nonprofit organization, and the lunch is being billed as a fundraiser.

Critics have long noted that the group’s finances are, ironically, secret.
