Link: Bell, and Ethel

There were two significant concerts in Washington on Monday night. Stephen Brookes took on Joshua Bell. And I reviewed the string quartet-cum-band Ethel in a program of music about the Balkan conflict, 9-11, and the Holocaust.

Ethel came courtesy of the new series New Music at the Atlas, which is well worth checking out.

An excerpt of Reich’s “Different Trains,” which Ethel performed at the Atlas on Monday night.
