Link: VA Orchestra’s romantic harmony

In Wednesday’s Washington Post:

If music be the food of love, Virginia Orchestra is having a feast, by Monica Hesse.

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra has nine married couples out of 48 core players. This leaves open the question of whether there’s actually more romance in the VSO or whether it’s just that more of the couples have actually tied the knot.

I’d be curious as to whether smaller or regional orchestras tend to have higher percentages of married couples than larger or national ones: any musicians care to weigh in with examples?
